CORE project benefits from
Technographic expertise
Technographic Displays has designed and
developed all three printed circuit boards forming the basis of a brand
new full-colour mains/battery powered lighting product from CORE
Lighting: The LED
head board is an optically and thermally efficient design using
state-of-the-art high power red, green, blue and white LEDs and
colour-mixing lenses, yielding up to 2,500lm.
An intelligent display
board with membrane switch interface and WiFi module enables direct
control of the lamp from the built-in keypad and display or via the web
browser of a mobile telephone or laptop computer.
The main control board
provides wired and wireless DMX-512 interfaces, inbuilt colour
sequences, super-efficient driving of the LEDs essential for
battery operation and intelligent battery management. The lamps can be
set-up as DMX slaves, or one unit can act as a master controlling a
whole DMX universe of POINT30 slaves.
As well as designing the circuitry of all
three boards, Technographic Displays provided a complete software
solution including the firmware for the two on-board microprocessors and
the web server for the WiFi module.
CORE POINT30 Outdoor was launched at PLASA 2009, where it was one of the
final nominees in the PLASA Innovations Awards. The range of lamps
promises to be popular with lighting professionals and rental companies.

ICC World Twenty20 2009 at
Trent Bridge
ICC World Twenty20 England 2009 took place between 5th June and 21st
June at Lord's,
The Oval and Trent Bridge cricket grounds.
Having installed the 83
square metre video screen and control system at Trent Bridge last year,
when it was used for a full season's domestic cricket plus a Test Match
between England and New Zealand plus a One Day International between
England and South Africa, Technographic Displays has again been employed
by Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club to set-up and control the
screen's content at this latest international event.
Scoring on the lower
portion of the screen was under the control of TechScore Cricket whilst
TechEvent was set-up with a fresh set of scoring templates
specifically for the World Twenty20. Ball-by-ball Duckworth Lewis par
scores were displayed automatically by the system as each reply innings
progressed.
Headlines at Headingley
In March 2009, The Yorkshire County
Cricket Club (YCCC) selected Display LED to supply and install a 102
square metre DigiLED scoreboard and video screen for Headingley Carnegie
Stadium. At the same time, YCCC commissioned Technographic Displays to
supply and install a complete control system for their new display.
Display LED commenced the
removal of the old scoreboard on 5th May and completed the new screen
installation by 16th May, in good time for the One Day International
between England and West Indies on 21st May. Heavy rain forced the
abandonment of the match, but the screen system was ready and waiting
for the start of play.
25th May saw the new screen's first
cricket action (Yorkshire Carnegie vs Leicestershire Foxes in the Twenty20 Cup), with the new scoreboard providing scoring and advertising
to great acclaim.
The Headingley installation includes TechScore Cricket - Technographic
Displays' comprehensive cricket scoring application - and TechEvent -
used for formatting and controlling the screen's content. The system
provides a comprehensive range of scoring pages, graphical analyses,
ball-by-ball Duckworth-Lewis par scores, video display capabilities,
free text messaging and advertising, all in a reliable and user-friendly
package.
Carling Cup Final 2009
Following the success of the ACTIV- Banner
display at last year's Carling Cup Final, Event 360 commissioned
Technographic Displays to operate an identical display at Wembley
Stadium on 1st March 2009.
