Introduction
Technographic's team of electronics, software and mechanical designers
are on hand to help you design and develop your electronic product. We
will always aim to provide high-quality solutions together with full
technical documentation.
We are a relatively small team of design engineers, but, with a wealth
of design experience, can often achieve finished designs more quickly
and economically than in-house designers.
Please feel free to discuss any design ideas with us (confidentially, of
course).
If the requirement is clearly defined, we are normally able to offer a
fixed-price quotation for the design work, ensuring that you stay within
your budget.
On work carried out on a consulting basis, we are happy to pass
intellectual property rights over to the customer (upon payment)
allowing ongoing manufacturing to be achieved in the most economic
fashion. If you require help with manufacturing, we are happy to oversee
this for you too. We will be involved as much or as little as you like.
Hardware Design
Digital circuit design forms the mainstay of Technographic's design
work. We have extensive experience of high-speed designs using standard
logic, PALS and complex programmable logic devices.
Many of our own products are based around programmable logic devices,
using a hardware description language (VHDL) to program the device
operation. We find that such a design approach is excellent for
prototyping and for flexibility in small-scale manufacture. All the
skills that we apply to our own products are available as part of our
Electronic Design Services.
Printed circuit board design is always performed in-house so that we
have control over performance, EMC and safety issues - we consider this
a part of the production engineering process.
Software Design
Software design is undertaken either as an integral part of an overall
design involving hardware and software, or as a software product in its
own right.
We take an engineering-style approach to programming based on good
design and rigorous testing.
We have experience in programming in Microcode, Assembler, C and Visual
Basic, under environments including DOS, Windows, and QNX, and for a
huge variety of hardware platforms. (Our programming experience, like
our hardware design, dates back to the late 1970's!)
EMC
As we design and manufacture in Europe we are well acquainted with
European standards for safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
We always design with the standards in mind. This is particularly
important with EMC where the cost of making a poorly designed product
comply can be very significant.
We have our own EMC test equipment which is used for pre-compliance
testing of prototypes, plus close links with accredited test
laboratories so that your product can be fully certified prior to being
placed on the market. |
